Open to Transformation: Expectation vs Intention

When you come to a session, it’s natural to bring expectations: “I want this to work,” “I want to feel this way,” “I want an answer.” But expectation locks in a specific outcome and can actually close you off to what truly arises in the session. This doesn’t mean you can’t learn or heal—it means that rigidly expecting something can block the experience.

Intention, on the other hand, opens you up in a much more powerful way. By focusing on a purpose—like “I want to explore what comes up” or “I want to connect with myself”—you create a space where what needs to appear, appears. Intention connects with the process, not the outcome, and that’s where real transformation happens.

The same applies to your daily life: letting go of rigid expectations and cultivating clear intentions allows you to flow with life instead of resisting it. In the session, it helps you receive everything your mind, body, and emotions need to show you—without filtering it through what “should happen.”

Final thought:
Come with intention, not expectation. What arises in the session is exactly what your being needs in that moment, and that is always more valuable than any expectation.
